How do I know if I have ADHD?
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects the brain's ability to regulate attention, impulse control, and activity levels. While often associated with children, ADHD is a lifelong condition that can impact people of all ages, including adults who may not have been diagnosed earlier in life. It’s characterized by three primary symptoms: inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. However, these traits manifest differently in everyone, making ADHD a highly individualized experience.

ADHD is not a sign of laziness or a lack of intelligence—it’s a brain-based condition that affects how individuals process and respond to the world around them. People with ADHD may find themselves struggling with tasks like time management, organization, or staying focused on long-term goals. At the same time, they may also possess incredible creativity, resilience, and a unique perspective on problem-solving. Understanding ADHD is not just about recognizing its challenges—it’s also about embracing the strengths it brings and finding strategies to harness them effectively.
Bethany M, Pittsburgh
Carley is down-to-earth, intelligent, and warm. Her academic and professional expertise in mental health, especially ADHD, is clear in every conversation, and she makes even complex information on the topic easy to understand. She's incredibly easy to talk to, offering feedback that is both realistic and supportive. You can tell she genuinely cares about helping others succeed. I would highly and enthusiastically recommend her to anyone looking for support with their ADHD.
